Construction Update 3/25/22

Construction Update 12/10/21

M and B Services has finished their sidewalk work for this season and will return in the Spring.  

Construction Update 12/1/21

The Contractor is cleaning up the job site for winter.

M and B Services expects to install light poles during the winter season.  This should have a minimal impact on traffic and parking. 

Construction Update 11/8/21

On Monday November 8, 2021, construction of Phase 2 Streetscape will resume on the 200 block of South Main Street. The Borough’s contractor, M&B Services, will be installing conduits and replacing curbs and sidewalks.  Construction hours will be from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
While crews are installing underground utilities and constructing new curbs & sidewalks, there will limited or no parking posted along the east side of South Main Street. Portions of the west side of the street may be posted as necessary during construction hours.
Pedestrian traffic may be detoured but access to all businesses will be available during construction.

Construction Update 10/21/21

The Main Street revitalization project is continuing with the completion of the Phase II portion between Spring Street and Beaver Street.  This project is continuation of what was completed from New Castle Street to Spring Street.  Completion of Phase II will not be until Spring of 2022 when the electric lines will be connected to each property and the light poles and signals installed.  Most of the construction of sidewalks and curbs will be completed in 2021.

Phase III from New Castle Street to the bridge going north is in planning now and hopefully will be let out to bid before the end of the year.  Further Main Street revitalization is being considered but will depend on funding availability and other resources and needs.  There is no set timeline for the completion of the entire project.  We will keep you apprised as we move forward.
