Harmony Lodge #429
Free and Accepted Masons
Freemasonry is the world's oldest largest Fraternity.
Its history and tradition date to antiquity. Its
singular purpose is to make good men better. Its bonds
of friendship, compassion, and brotherly love have
survived even the most divisive political, military, and
religious conflicts through the centuries. Freemasonry
is neither a forum nor a place for worship. Instead, it
is a friend of all religions that are based on the
belief in one God.
Harmony Lodge, established in 1869 and presently located
on E. Beaver St. in Zelienople, has supported the area
located between New Castle, Butler and Pittsburgh. Most
of its public service projects are related to people
rather than things. Since the beginning of Year 2000,
the Lodge provided 7 individual financial assistance
awards and financed the "train the trainer" part of the
D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness & Resistance Education) program
which is carried out in our local schools.
The Annual Ox Roast, held on Labor Day, has become a
tradition for the community.
